Joe Novak: Color Dimensions Novak calls his method 'abstract excursions' of color and light focused on monochrome and tonal gradations. His last show at Zane Bennett Contemporary Art was part of his series of 350 small-scale monochrome panels in a range of colors. The upcoming show juxtaposes the previous exhibition because it focuses on select large-scale canvases. |

Horse HeART Art and Wild Horses! Horse HeART celebrates both, with a juried exhibit of equine art that evokes the resilience and spirit of mustangs and a fundraiser to benefit the Let 'Em Run Foundation. Opening reception with wine and chocolate is March 13, 2010. LERF is a non-profit organization, co-founded by country western singer Lacy J. Dalton, working to preserve wild horses. Zapata Ranch Painting Workshop: Landscape, Figure, Wildlife This February, Zapata Ranch will open it's doors for our first annual painting workshop. Led by Denver area-based and multi-award winning artist Lani Vlaanderen, this long weekend will be packed with 3 full days of instructional workshop where students will have the opportunity to paint from a live cowboy model, wildlife including bison, horses and cattle, as well as the unique San Luis Valley landscape. A great studio space is available for those not wanting to brave the elements and painting from photos is permitted. This is a great opportunity to gather reference from an actual working ranch and receive instruction on how to express your experience in paint.
